Jae Criddle is a West Australian emerging visual artist. Interested in intuitive approaches to art making, she works across painting, ceramics, printmaking and textiles.

Inventing off-kilter compositions and objects, she embraces loose and crooked shapes, letting the materials and textures take the lead. The recurring background themes are almost always connected to landscape and place, considering internal and external territories and trying to capture the intangible.

Being self taught, with a background in graphic design and illustration (graduated with BA Design from Curtin University in 2003), this has undoubtedly influenced her process and some of the figurative and abstract elements of her visual language.

She has participated in solo exhibitions and group shows over the past decade, and has been self employed mostly as an Illustrator/Graphic Designer and Visual Art facilitator since her studies.

Jae currently resides in the Perth Hills with her partner and young son.
